JackD - regarding the power steering fluid and filter I have a similar Benz (96 E320) but do not see a place for a filter similar to previous Benz - where is the power steering filter?

ok, i have one more. i surfed fastlane, and there are two different transmission types. i have a1996 e320 automatic. how do i tell what tranny it has. is there an identification code somewhere?

I think you have the 4 speed transmission which is the 722.4. Someone will correct me if I am wrong. Do a search using '722.4' and see what comes up.
