Intermittent Starting Problems 1999 C280 2.8 V-6

Just recently developed intermittent starting problems in my ’99 C 280 2.8 V-6…141,000miles. The starter and engine cranks fine…but it doesn’t fire. It happened once last Friday…waited for a few minutes and “tried it one more time” and it fired up thank God. Same yesterday. I’m dropping off to my independent shop for analysis and repairs, but can you give me an idea of what to expect or look for? Thanks!

Well what is it???

Sorry to be sarcastic but how would I answer your question about why an engine won't start when I have NO idea what engine? Does the body NOT start?

BTW if it is a 112 motor I would replace the crank sensor.

Let me edit my post also and say I just noticed you have added the C280 line, whch means you do have a 112 motor.
