In the morning when I first start the car and move the wheel It makes a strange squeeking sound.Could the steering box going bad?I had to replace one in my 87 300E.

Could it be the contact ring between the steering column and wheel? Mine made some noise so I had it changed out...noise all gone

Is the noise coming from the inside of the car or the outside?? If the outside, most likely dry ball joint or tie rod end. If inside probably steering column bearing.
