Trying to nail down the source of the problem. Ignition turned to on and no fuel pump hissing noise. Needless to say it wouldn't start after that. If I turn off the ignition and whack the fuel pump couple times, then usually the fuel pump hissing noise would come back and it would start. Need to know which terminals to jump after removing the fuel pump relay and/or OVP relay when it does die. Sometimes it would just die while driving. Or do you guys think I just need a new fuel pump?

Have you done a search on the subject?. I know there are quite a few suggestion on the subject. However, it sounds like your fuel pump relay is going.
Good luck! J.H. |

You jump pins 7 & 8 at the fp relay.

HA! Think I've got it. It died on me and with the ignition on, I tried to jump #7&8 and no signs of life from the fuel pump. Then I whacked it and turned off the ignition and turn it back on...... it fired back up. I drove to a different location and turned it off. I proceeded to jump #7&8 and the fuel pump was working. I guess I'll have to look for a new fuel pump.

I had the same problem on my 300 SEL6.3.The bearings were bad in the pump (its a turbine type pump). I had another pump that was electrically bad and I made 1 good pump out of the 2.
