First time user.
I could use a little assistance from some more experienced 300D owners or techs.in trying to track down what the cause of a water leak on the passenger side floor is.
I have checked the body drains and the drains near the hood hinges and they are clear. We brought the car from Florida with us to Mass. and would like to keep it in good shape. The water leaking is causing some rusting and needs to be found. Can anyone provide any advice on where this water is coming from. Are there other drains to check? There is a panel on the inner fender should I remove it and look for the leak there?

Try checking the evaporator drain line for the a/c. Could be condensation dripping from the evaporator coils. The line may be clogged or knocked off at the connection. It is supposed to drain out of the car.
Lots of luck, and wear rubber boots until you get it fixed....

Does the water appear all the time or after a heavy rain? If it appears after a rain, your windshield gasket could be suspect.

Do a search on this site for water leaks...you'll find more than one post, and possible causes, and their fixes too! You'll be surprised...well at least a little anyway, and most likely it'll take 5 minutes to fix.

Thanks all. Happens after a hard rain or washing the car. I found a small rust spot behind the inner wheel well cover. Not sure if it's through yet.
Larry I brought the car here to Mass from Venice where I used to live and still have a home that I rent in Venice East.

Jerry, it's a small world after all!
Since you have spent some time down here, you know what nice little deluges of rain we get here on occasion. Yes, I would check the inner fender well. Before you do that, check the rubber "snorkel" that drains into the engine compartment...make sure it's not clogged up or even stuck together with who-knows-what. Btw, ever eat at Buddy's Pizza?...they used to have some nice old car shows.

Larry,

Where is this rubber "snorkel" located at?

btw, I HAVE eaten at Buddys Pizza. They have good food. Their Bandstand sandwich is the greatest!

Larry,
I,m not sure where this snorkel is, but I will find it. It 's starting to get pretty cold up here so time is running out. I also found some body plugs in the rocker panel that were torn, have to find them somewhere, maybe dealer.
I,ve eaten at Buddies, but we used to own Michealangelo,s on Venice Ave and we had the best cheesesteaks in town so we ate there alot.
If you need help with any work for a reasonable price see my friend Wolfgang Stutzmueller in Venice, he's in the book German Auto repair. I think it's on Cypress St. Straight from Germany.
