Driving home from moutains last night I lost electrical power to: turn signals, brake lights, tach, fuel gage, temp gage, speed control, power windows and maybe other stuff. Lights (front and tail)still working.
I looked at fuses this am and none were burned. Anyone have suggestion as to this problem? thanks. Nic in SC.

Look for moisture and corrosion underneath the box that holds the fuses.

Chuck, thanks for suggestion. My car has had zero rust/corrode issues but this might be an exception. I'll try it tonight. Is removing fuse box tricky? I'm handy with tools but no mechanic. Nic.

I don't have a 123 body any more, but I don't think it's a big deal. The mechanic who found the problem for me spent two hours finding and fixing it.

Be sure to disconnect the battery, then I think it's a matter of a couple of screws and some careful tugging.

This was a problem on my 280E, and I believe that it was caused by the drain hole under the hood hinge being clogged. All of the water coming off the windshield has to drain there.

Good luck.

Chuck
