Help, Help 1993 300e 3.2
Well I rewired the ETA and removed the EGR while I was at it.
Now I can't find the place to reconnect a vacuum hose end. The EGR vacumm line goes where? I have a place right in front of the engine that has other connections to it. I'm not sure if it goes there or the other vac line that I have disconnected goes there. The other hose that I removed was the one that is into the intake manifold at one end behind the ETA wiring harness connector but I can't remember where the other end goes? I don't want to cross these two vac lines. ![]() ![]()

The line from the egr goes back to the switch-over-valve [ in front of engine, under plastic cover]
The line from the engine goes to the input of the SOV's This is a common vac supply line for both SOVs [ one sov for egr and one sov for AIR pump, they are stacked up on top of each other] |

Follow the vac line from the fuel pressure regulator down to the maniflod....it is right next to that line
It has a blue plastic check valve there ..it goes on top of the check valve [unless you brok it off...] |

I found exactly what you have described, the line I am not able to find the correct nipple for is the other vac line that comes of the intake manifold, there are 3 lines that come out of the manifold, 2 from one nipple, one goes to the VOP and the other to the fuel control. The other line from the intake is a lonely line that goes to ??? it is a connected to the manifold directly behind the ETA connector bracket a little farther away from the engine than the other 2 lines.
I don't know why I removed it, it probably goes to the door locks or something. ![]()

well....u lost me there ...
There is no vac line that goes to the OVP..The OVP is an electrical protection circuit and uses/monitors NO vac Anyway............ the vac lines at the intake are 1 line from the vac monitor diagnostic sensor [on left fender well] 1 line from the Fuel reg , and one from the SOVs for the egr and Air pump. The line from the fuel reg goes to the same check valve as the sovs do , but it goes to the bottom [ engine side ] of the check valve so that it reads engine vac under all running conditions/loads. But the sov line goes to the top of the same check valve . This is so the sovs can not interfer with the fuel pressure reg readings and the vac is checked via the valve. Need more info |

Arthur, thank you fpr your patience. I read my post and I couldn't understand it either. OVP hahaha.
I did edit the post and now that I read yours it makes sense, the line I removed has to go towards the fender well. ![]()

problem solved, The line went to the fender and total vacumm sensor. Now I will test drive the car with the repaired ETA.
Hopefully I don't get the Limp Home Mode. ![]()

OK
That is the diagnostic vac sensor, so you should be all set , except you may get a CE light pop up from the running without the sensor line hooked up. If that happens , simply clear the codes and you will be back to normal.. |
