Actually I had my traditional bamboo curry for lunch today. Its digesting quite well, but it did take a while to explain to Xian that I had an ulcer. His english is, well a bit unique but he's really a good bloke. I'm on 300mg of Zegrid once daily, 30mg Cymbalta, and the Carafate 1Gm four times daily and its a pain to take properly. You may not take other meds within 1 hour of the Carafate (ulcer pill) and one must take it on an empty stomach 1 hour before eating, or two hours after a meal.

I'm going in for a CT scan with contrast monday.

Long story short, I'm still going to take you up on your ace lamb curry! Thank you modern science!

I only had it for six months because thats all the insurance I could afford. I was pretty young and yuppieish at the time. My facial expression in the photo below pretty much sums up my feelings on the car. Its a wonder to drive, it sounds good, and if you have a lift (and the book by Wayne 101 Projects for your Boxster) you can work on it yourself. I never tried to work on mine though because I was still a young bloke who thought changing an air filter was an enormous undertaking. Things have obviously changed a bit since then .

If you don't do your own maintenance its going to be costly and should you end up with an unfortunate example of the breed you may have to sell / mortgage body organs to pay the shop. The early boxsters (like my old '97) were known to have rear main seal failures (GULP ) and many have had replacement engines installed under warranty. Purchasing a boxster (especially an early one) requires one to do their homework. That being said I plan on scooping up a cheap boxster one of these days when I have a lift. They're really good fun to drive!

Some updates;
They did some blood work on me and found my white cell count was elevated pointing to a chronic infection. I'm on an antibiotic in addition to the other three pills Im on. I feel like Jack Nicholson when Nurse Ratched comes in, "medication time gentleman..."

Granny has had a ****ty couple of weeks. Persistant nausea, the blow ****s, a few other things. I'm keeping her well fed and comfortable.

I got wilmas fuel pump relay in the mail today, so she will once again be roadworthy soon. My mom and I spent all day cleaning out my shop, and I couldn't have done it without her help. Holy hell I have a lot of used oil to take in. I'll take some photos tomorrow or when I get the chance. Once I start feeling a little better than I am now I'll start making some real progress on the fleet. As always, thank you guys for your love and support. I can't wait to host some kind of shop forum meet here on the farm someday.

Right here in Brisbane they discovered that ulcers are caused by Helicobacter pylori, which is curable. Why doesn't your GP prescribe the correct medication for you and get rid of it once and for all?

Im on Carafate (mucosal membrane protectant) and zegrid (h2 antagonist) for the ulcer. I'm on flagil (antibiotic.) I've also been instructed to take a pro-biotic whe. The antibiotic regimen is through. Excellent link you gave, I appreciate it.

I actually thought of you this morning while I was watching Top Gear. Clarkson was testing a Holden and said of the OZ, "the only thing they ever invented was the rotary washing line." and then went on to brag about how the UK gave the world everything else, including Australia. It was interesting to watch his face when the Holden spanked the Jag in a drag race.

Was that a monaro? 175 MPH is nothing to be sneezed at, but quality is crappy.( a chev LS7 helps)
Actually Australia gave the World the guided missile .The first of which were tested at Woomera rocket range in 1950 using an Australian designed Computer .The computer filled a shed and there are movies of the missile cruising at ground level .
It's a pity Clarksons father wasn't stationed there because many british soldiers were and most died of radiation induced cancer by the 1980's.
Then the world wouldn't have to put up with his unfunny attempts at humuor.
And Abel Tasman gave the World Australia ...cook was a hundred or so years later.

It isn't exactly a soul-quake to find out Jezza didn't exactly fact check one of his statements. I like OZ and the UK, so I'm a bit caught in the middle. I NEVER choose sides if my mates are talking rugby. I heard a lot about Australia from a man I hold in very high regard who went there on an R&R during his time in 'nam. He was a Marine Scout Sniper and desperately overdue to take a break from the bush. He loved it there.

Had a good day today. Spent the brunt of my efforts detailing Mert the 280 as he was looking a bit shoddy. He now gleams brilliantly, and the whitewalls are even clean! Then my freight delivery came from Northern Tool. Got a new Shop Crane, engine stand, a 2,000lb capacity hydraulic coil spring compressor, and my new brake bleeder. As usual I'll take some photos when everything is assembled.

I'm heading to Springfield VA to pickup a 300D with a good engine Saturday, I'm very much looking forward to that. Kim the finny presented me with an interesting dilemma today. Every last bit of the brake fluid in the res. Is gone, but no puddles under the car... That's going to be fun to investigate.

And just in case you missed it in open discussion, here's a link to a quickie video tour of my shop.

A lift would be dynamite indeed. I'm in Bristol Tennessee. It falls on the border of Va. I need to upgrade the electrical service to my shop. Currently it only has something like 50amp service. I'd prefer about 150 amps, so it's going to take some serious bread for the upgrade. How much power does a lift take to run? I think Northern Tool sells them right? I plan on adding a self constructed spray booth off to the side eventually. I'd love to have you come down for a visit sometime Ron. I'll even leave the New Holland outside so you'll have a garage space.

In other news, my mom (basically my sister, remember, she is 1/3 of my family) is after an E550 cabriolet. We spiffed up her C300 today while I was cleaning cars. We might be taking a drive out to Roanoke tomorrow to go trade her C "Heidi" for that alluring new E. It will be a good stablemate for Granny's E320 BluTec "Smokey Bo."
