Heating door hinge grease

The door seals are off on the 115 and I'm working on refurbishing each door as well as I can. I tried greasing the door hinges with grease gun and needle attachment but grease would not go in the hinge.

Is heating the hinge and old grease with an electric heat gun to get it flowing a bad idea?
I read about someone soaking the hinge in kerosene but I can't picture that being a non-mess since the kerosene would just run all over.
Like I said, door seals are off now so won't be damaging rubber, maybe just door jam paint. . .

Thanks

do you have the correct needle attachement? It is a special little gizmo, if you do , I cant see trying heat doing any damage, I'd use a heat gun over a torch tho

If you are into sprucing up the locks.

One thing I've learned since is the proper grease to use on the latch mechanism is bees wax. It won't get on your madams fur coat when you go out to the opera.

We ran into the problem of not being able to get grease into some of the hinges on our Pagoda. Ended up baking the hinges in the oven to get the grease hot enough to exchange... Kind of a pain. Probably not gonna be a problem if the car is greased once every 5 years though... I assume my door hinges were never greased.

Thanks for the replies. Interested points all around.
Meltedpanda, I have the straight needle tip, using on a regular grease gun. Lincoln grease gun to be exact. I stumbled across a mention of a needle tip with a ball-with-hole-through-it somewhere but that seemed odd. Maybe I was in the wrong forum altogether
Is the special little gizmo something besides what I have?

Baking the hinges is real dedication

There is a special conical tip, but at one point a cheap plunger type hand size grease gun with that tip was available from Harbor freight, you got three couple ounce tubes of grease with it. Another place to get a tool that supposedly works if the chainsaw bar tip greaser which is very similar to the actual MB design, Oregon's is made of plastic and costs about $5 comes with grease and can be refilled.

the tip is the key, I was told by an old MB guy that the OEM MB unit was the only thing that worked. That said if the hinge is plugged, not sure that would even work. Google MB hinge grease gun, lots of pictures out there
