Talking Motors turns to fast ; how to slow it ?

Hi,
My old 1986 560sl car didn’t turned realy from few years.
I have to verify a lot of things.
First i filled it with 98 gasoline, but now my motor turns at 1800 rpm mini!

Where is it coming from ? Automatic choke? Fresher temp?
How to slow it ?

I made 2 miles and the water thank was full !
Do you think it comes from motor speed ? Or old radiator?
Tk

I'm assuming the problem is that the idle speed is too high at approximately 1800 rpm. A common fault causing this condition is a failed OVP relay. If the lighted dashboard symbol for the ABS system does not go out shortly after starting the engine this is a fairly good indication that the OVP relay has failed. Search OVP for more information on replacement.

Another common fault is a failed control module for the idle air solenoid (solder cracks on the PCB inside it). With the new idle speed being 1500-2000 RPM, it can be a wild ride in traffic...

OVP relay is above the fuses behind the small panel in side of the passenger side footwell.
