W110 200D 1966 Engine Water Sensor Location
Hello Everyone,
I have a '66 W110 200D which for a long time as had no temperature gauge. The one in the instrument cluster is just a "dummy" and doesn't connect to anything. I am able to acquire a new one, with the capillary tube, in fully working order. So, my question is: Where does the temp sensor go in the engine compartment? I have tried searching, both on-line and in my car, and I am lost. As there is no tube to follow in my car, it makes it even more difficult. I got some info that it may be between two of the glow plugs on that side of the engine, but I am not trusting this info. The on line MB manuals just show the tube as part of the instrument cluster and not it's actual connection to the engine point. Does anyone have a diagram or a photo to help me out here? Thanks very much! Best Regards from Cairo. |

Cairo, I don't know the answer exactly but between the two front glow plugs in the cylinder head is where I'd expect it to go.
I've had success numerous times figuring out these types of problems in repairing old unique vehicles by using internet image searches. Try an image search on Mercedes 200D and study the engine bay.
