Waste Vegetable Oil questions? WVO forums

We're getting a lot of questions about running diesels on Waste Vegetable Oil etc on this forum. This is probably due to MythBusters and the cost of fuel.

If you want information on the subject, there is a sticky and even better there are many forums that have answers to any question about WVO you could possibly imagine. Try typing "WVO forum" in a search engine, you'll get excellent results like here.

People on those forums know all there is to know about running mercedes on used cooking oil (WVO, SVO or whatever you want to call it). You'll save a lot of time, get a lot more thorough and correct answers and you'll make the non-wvo users on the board a lot happier.
Cheers!

wvo

ortho,
the diesel forum is the largest forum here. The reason its the largest forum here is because of WVO. The reason these forums exist is to sell parts. Phil is greatful that all of us wvo'ers are here and buying parts from him. And since I only buy parts from Phil I have a right to this forum and Phil greatfully accepts my money. When I order a part I often get that part the next day. My orders are always right. The parts are first quality and always fit perfectly. I have never had an issue with any part I have ever bought from phil...and I am always working on my car buying parts from Phil. I would like to encourage all you other veggies also to buy your parts here. So ortho, please explain again why I should not use this forum...

If the WVO crowd would not repost a half dozen new duplicate threads to rehash the same old stuff every time someone new pours a quart of mazola in their tank for the first time there wouldn't be a question here. Old threads do not expire on this board, the old ones work just as well.

WVO discussion has always been welcome on this board but most of what is posted is a repost. I read very little new information on WVO here. Even the question of a WVO board here has been discussed before. It is a little sad that many of the reposts do not cover the topics as well as the older threads. This has been discussed before also. The board has become a form of entertainment more than a source of information.

YOU HAVE 58 POSTS AND YOU WANT TO CHASE AWAY M-B OWNERS FROM THIS FORUM BECAUSE OF WHAT??!!!!!!!
WHAT IS IT ABOUT SEEING WVO THREADS MAKES YOU UNHAPPY?
IT WOULD PROBABLY BE A WIDE "BUSINESS DECISION" FOR THIS FORUM TO ASK YOU TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE INSTEAD OF THE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TALK ABOUT WVO.
JMHO....

calm down austin. i agree with him. i dont want any of you to leave, and that includes YOU blueranger. i like the idea of another forum for it or even another part to the mercedesshop forum. the problem with this is its diesel discussion. i understand your wvo is used in a diesel but when the page is flooded with post about wvo, people with questions about diesel get ignored half of the time.

I have gained a great deal of information about wvo on this "Diesel Discussion" forum.

So any member has questions about wvo, soybean oil etc. on your MB diesels, keep posting here. I enjoy reading them all.

I agree. Most wvo threads contain a question that could be solved with a ten-second search so I don't even bother to look over them. I search all the time for car-related issues here but when I was having problems, I went to a WVO forum to post my questions, where they belonged. I like the idea of having a separate forum.

My 2c

I'm really tired of seeing threads here on Diesel Discussion about 240D's.

Since I don't have one, it makes me really jealous whenever people write about their 240D's.

I say there should also be a seperate place for 240D's!!!

Especially the standard shifts!!!!!!

A diesel is a diesel, whether its running on store bought diesel or home brew. The folks on this board have inspired me to give it a try and had it not been for this diesel discussion board I would've never known about WVO as an alternative fuel source.

I'm tired of oil threads and water in the cabin questions but that doesn't mean I'll stop reading and responding to them.

Cheers,

Bill
