While not in Ventura County, he's not too far.

Mr. MB Motors is located in Tarzana, off of the 101 at Reseda Blvd.

He is used by a lot of members from this forum, and has people coming to his shop from many different states.

Have you used Dieter's before. You can see them from the freeway, on the north side between Central and Rose. He is probably the best, if you stick to Ventura County.

But, I have to confirm that Mr. MB Motors in Tarzana is the best in Southern California. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY will ever touch my car again. I moved about three years ago from Ventura County to Palmdale and it is worth the drive back to Enrique's for service. He's honest, fairly priced, and fast.

He seems to really like my car and says that it should work well for me for another twenty years. That will almost take me to the time when I won't be able to drive anymore. Twenty years more is a long time, but that is what you can expect when Enrique (and his assistant, Carlos) take care of your car.

I am also a believer in Mr. MB Motors in Tarzana. This is the first shop that I have really trusted out of the last three states that I have lived in. Took my car in for an oil change just to see the shop and have my 500 SEC checked out for any problems that I may be overlooking. I was very impressed with the shop and even more so with Enrique and Carlos. It was nice to see them working on the car in plain view from the waiting room without feeling like I was looking over thier shoulders (I was, actually). Enrique invited me out to take a look while it was on the rack. Showed me the empty space where my shifter bushings used to be. Walked the length of the car with me showing me that everything else looked good except for the motor mounts. Long story short, I was in and out of the shop within 1 1/2 hours (no appointment, just dropped in), had the oil changed and bushings installed for under $100 and finally found a shop that I will go to without second guessing if I am getting ripped off or not. Saw several other customers pop in for minor fixes and even one that came from another shop that had screwed up a fix on her car. They all had complete trust in Enrique. Thanks for spreading the word about MR. MB Motors!

Enrique is the best. No ifs ands or buts. There is no one else I would consider taking my Benz to.

I always love hearing peoples experiences with him. I would never have made the recommendation if I too did not feel the way you all do after having experienced his shop, his business practices and his capabilities.

I have said it Time ang again, Enrique is the best. he truly is a class act.

You are lucky to be in SOUTHERN Calif. with a Benz

Just wonderful to see you guys paying a deserved tribute to a wonderful shop, you would never see anything like that in Northern California

After 8 years, still never found a good shop up here, and never met anyone else who did either. Even though I was a member of MBCA and asked everyone I met about a good shop. There are some that are OK, but I would like something more than that.

I have been overcharged, encouraged to have repairs the car didn't need, had the car returned with body damage, grease on the sheepskin seat covers, scratches on the trunk that weren't there, no better at independents than at main MB dealers, and the latest indignity was up here when supposedly a recommended shop, had an argument with them about many quarts of oil the car needed, they lost when shown the actual MB owners manual for the car.

Please note also, at the California section of "Good shops" you can't find any wonderful shops mentioned for Northern California, so it isnt just ME unhappy about this.

Maybe I should move to LA. My car certainly wants to go home (It was delivered new and cared for there, and I found and bought it there - took me a special trip after a year looking for one unsuccessfully in SF bay area)

You should just drive down whenever your car needs service.

You could probably make the drive in less that 6 hours.

In fact, you'd hardly need to change freeways. Just get on the 101 freeway, and get off at Reseda Blvd.

No seriously, nearly everytime I've been there, there has been a car which was brought in from far away.

I've been there when a guy brought his car in from Bakersfield, Big Bear, even Utah.

There is also a guy who has an S600 who has his car trucked in from Montana!

In fact, many years ago I did exactly that (all I had to do was talk to the guy who stamped the service booklet for the car -Prestige Imports in Santa Ana) and I came away highly pleased. He said the PO of the 560SEC simply would bring the car in say "Do whatever has to be done" and that was it

Try that in Northern California and you would get, "Scr*wed blued and tatooed"

Might work. Would need a few suggestions for food/lodging, and would love to meet a lister or two at the shop...

I haven't exaggerated my experiences. My car really suffered up here and I didn't do so good either

Jim you really ought to move to sunny So. Calif. More Benzes are sold and registered here than anywhere else in the world, except maybe Germany.

Enrique is great, you'd enjoy meeting him, and your SEc would be happier for it.

If you can't move here, then arrange for a trip down for a service appointment. Make sure that you let Enrique know that you are coming and let him know that the "gang" from mercedesshop.com sent you over.

And while you are at his shop make sure to look at the plaque that Alon put together for him.

Good luck!

Los Angeles/The "OC" paradise for MBs & their owners

Thanks! There indeed lots of reasons to move to LA (www. Danadelaney.com)

Plus, Los Angeles, you are right, the owners take the best care of their Benzes, there would HAVE to be good shops there, the MB owners do not suffer fools and boors working on their cars.

The fact that you people actually went to all the trouble to have a plaque made for Enrique, (I read that story with much interest) convinced me right. Other long distance customers simply gilded the lily.

Good mechanics like that are like diamonds.

It is a pleasure to be in Los Angeles, even people drive better there, I have seen high speed collisions avoided because the skillful drivers there knew what to do. Amazing.

Imagine the joy of coming out of the shop with everything perfect, and ready for a long trip anyplace with a Mercedes in top fettle. Nice.

(In San Francisco, you hope you don't get hit by a red light runner on the way home) Almost as bad as in NY where "cars" are those yellow things with a number on the roof

On the other hand, you can't beat SanFran for great restaurants.

Another Satisfied Customer

Just wanted to let everyone who monitors this thread know that I am now a "Mr. MB Motors / Enrique" believer. I have only been in LA for less than two years, and since I am walking distance to Mercedes of Beverly Hills, I thought I would try them first. I figured that if they did good work, I would be willing to accept their high prices as a trade-off for the convenience. Unfortunately, the convenient location was about the only positive thing about my few experiences there, so I decided it was time for a new shop.

After reading all of your posts on this thread is was almost a no-brainer that I should bring my 1994 S500 Coupe to Enrique. I hardly need to recap everything that everyone has already said here, but I will say that all of it is true. He is honest, very reasonably priced, and I needed nothing except the confidence of this forum and my meeting Enrique for just a few minutes to know that I could completely trust his opinions and the quality of his work.

One quick example: After Enrique replaced the rear suspension pressure reservoirs and rear lower outer control arm bushings to fix some ride problems and creaking noises that were plaguing me, there was still a very slight squeaking noise that he attributed to the rear shocks. He explained that it was hardly worth the cost of replacing them (which would be upwards of about $2K - each shock is about $900 ea.), and instead lubricated them as best as possible at no charge to me. He was convinced that after the lubricant worked itself into the shocks this would greatly reduce, if not completely eliminate, this squeak. However, he insisted that I call him next week after driving the car for a few days to let him know if it is gone. I have little doubt that most other shops would have never attempted this solution and simply insisted that I needed new shocks.

So thanks again to everyone for turning me on to Mr. MB Motors. There is no doubt in my mind that Enrique is worth the trip to Tarzana, and I am now a customer for life.

On a side note, I told Enrique about the high praise he receives on this board and that this was the reason I chose to come to his shop. I found it funny that although he knows about "us" here, he doesn't use the Internet and has never actually read all of these posts. Nonetheless he was very grateful that people are so enthusiastically writing about him (and I'm glad to now be one of those people!).
