Hi shadow, remember me?

I'm glad he was able to fix your car.

He was afraid the head gasket was bad, but apparently it was the radiator.

Hi Paul,
Great meeting you
Imagine that
Small world

Your car looks like new
& with all the what you put into it
it should give you years of enjoyment...

Did you like my classic benz?
I never drove or had a benz before
this is my first..

OOOh a head gasket
Really wouldn;t want that
A radiator can always be a good thing
It probably was beyond its life
& its good thats done

Its running about 95 city I guess
but there was some stop & go
so thats not bad...

Frankly, I think Enriques is a genius...
He is also a world class gentleman...

Very impressed
& he fixed my car

Thumbs up Enrique and MR MB are the tops, they are fantastic!!

When I joined the forum back in May 2006, I was early on advised that this shop is the greatest, with so many rave reviews that I felt I ought to drive there and have my car worked on there.

BENZ-LGB in particular encouraged me to take a road trip with this in mind.

Finally after the latest debacle with incompetent mechanics in this town, working on this car, totally wrecked the sunroof, after being told to bubricate the sunroof track rails, and reupholster the headliner.

I asked Enrique to clear the calender for a long distance new customer, and he willingly obliged.

I stayed in a hotel nearby ( www.tarzanainn.com ) while they went to work on the car, and repaired the $1,000 faux pas made by the previous mechanics, and and brought the car up to date.

His rates at $80 ph are VERY reasonable, and he is very generous and even offered me a free loaner, (Mercedes) for a trip to Sherman Oaks I had to make

There is a very good reason he is wildly popular with his customers, he REALLY knows the cars, and really tries hard to fix only what is really wrong with them to make them perfect, and not to make the customer pay more than is needed.

For far away long distance customers such as myself, he said that simple things like oil changes can be performed close to home, but if I build up a list of issues, he will be there to take care of them.

He knows these cars inside and out. He is truly a treasure, and I can understand why so many come to him from far away.

When you are a long distance customer, or one with a really large list of issues to take care of, he will even comp a few of them. He didn't even charge me for the install of my euro fire extinguisher, even though he had to remove the seat to do it, as the bracket for it has to be mounted to the bottom of the seat frame, and he comped the antenna mast install, with a customer supplied mast.

I can count myself as one of them. It was well worth to stay in Tarzana for a week so he could work his magic on my car.

He is the BEST!!!!!!!!

Talking Mr. MB is the man!

My experience with Mr. MB was great! Enrique is courteous, knows his stuff and his pricing is fair. I purchased a 1994 E320 wagon a month ago. It had a "hunting" idle issue brought it to Hoehn and MB Anaheim Hills, No luck could not figure out what was wrong. From reading this thread, i decided to drop by Enrique and left the car to be diagnose. Enrique had hard time diagnosing it, it had new harness, check compression, check timing, check coils, check wire sets, replaced plugs and check EGR valve. To no avail, the idle was still "hunting". He double checked the EGR valve and it was holding vacuum. He decided to removed the EGR valve to clean it and "walla" he found the culprit! It is hard to describe what was wrong, but Enrique said it was the 1st time he saw that kind of EGR problem on a E320. (If you need more information, ask Enrique)

To all who supported and updated this Thread.... Thank you!!!
Without this thread i will be lost.

If your wagon is white, with a "hoehn" license frame on it, I saw it in the shop a few days ago when I was there. It's a nice car, and Enrique will really take care of it for you.

Very much agreed: Even after 6 days in a hotel, a 1500 mile driving trip, and a 93mph radar traffic on the way back, it was indeed worth it.

Enrique and his assistant, Carlos, made the car PERFECT.

I cannot recommend him more highly. He is that good; no question about it.

There is even an excellent Mexican restaurant, the El Patron, 5545 Reseda Blvd, next door, while you are waiting; (818) 705-2920

I almost let this slip by.

Did you get a speeding violation for going 93 mph?

Yah, afraid so. Maybe traffic school to get rid of it?

I am not complaining, I ran 90-120 just about all the way down there (post midnight) with no trouble, hit 140 a couple of times. the cars are seductive,
and capable of their advertised high speeds. 100 is jail speed, I think, so I guess I was lucky.

I would definitely try traffic school, but I'm not sure they'll let you.

When I fought a ticket recently, I won because the officer didn't show up, but I noticed that the judge gave people one last chance to opt for traffic school before he heard their case, and sometimes when the speed was too high relative to the posted limit, or in one case a woman was sited for tailgating, he wouldn't allow traffic school.

traffic school

Jim-

Traffic school not possible for you in Cal. The cutoff is 25mph over speed limit. I am guessing you weren't in a 70 mph zone.

Of course, I suggest in that instance you get an extension first, when that runs out do a trial by dec, and if you lose get another extension, try to subpoena CHP records, and then go to trial.

Chances are you may win somewhere somehow.

Or, just pay your money and let it go.

You are right 100+ in Cal equals, 2 points, possible take you to jail, possible suspension by Court, and even worse DMV Nazi's will eat you alive (office of Traffic Safety)

DO NOT GET CAUGHT GOING OVER 100+ MPH in CAL (Don't ask me why I know) (

Thanks for the help. The citation was for 93 in a 70 mph zone.
He was sitting in the dark in the median, about 7:30 pm, and I went buy and saw the blue and red cherries light up, and the car turned around and he was after me.

It could have been much worse.
I am happy I was not caught going down there. I had left Stockton at 10 pm, so to get there, (to LA) I was running 90-120 mph, and hit 140 a couple of times. But it was about midnight to 2 am, and some car stayed behind me
all the way, I think some new Lexus or Acura, and a couple of times he tried to pass me at 120, but I wouldn't let him. Stayed with me all the way to the 405 split in LA.

These big Benzes are amazing at speed, just amazing. It never felt unsafe.
Just quite a bit of wind noise over 120 mph.

Hi guys,

I have been plauged with my idling misfire for a long time now and I am thinking of paying Enrique a visit in the next week. I am driving up to northern california and so it is totally on the way so I was thinking of handing it over to him to try and figure out what the heck my problem is. The last shop I took it to (Renato Benz IIRC in so.cal) didn't find anything and I basically wasted my money. He went to help other customers and drove the car around for half the time...so I was not very pleased.

I'll give him a call and maybe I can make my way up there on friday (just called but nobody picked up, closed on sundays?)

I also hear he used to drive a 300TE too my 300TE is in amazing condition apart from the misfire!

ps2cho,
I may see you at Enrique's I'm making an appointment to have my timing chain and guides replaced and some other misc things done and a checkup in general of my car since I've only had it 2 months.
I'll call Monday and make an appointment so it'll probably be towards the end of the week.

Yeh I'm driving up to Northern California on friday (Going to see a Switchfoot and Reliant K concert up in Davis that night!) so hopefully he has a slot available for me. I am going to call tomorrow too. Its a long drive from socal here, but hopefully he can help fix my nightmare of a misfire on the way up to the concert
