ground wire soldering question

do I solder those two wires together at the wishbone connector in the small notch or what?

This is my first soldering job aside from mini cables at work, so bear with my ignorance. Thanks.

So far so good. Cut the ring terminal off, strip the wire and solder the two wires together. Make sure u use a piece of heatshrink ( i see you already have some on the other wires)

Take care,

George

I got the harness from Crutchfield, too bad the old stereo install apparently chopped
off all the speaker connections making 1/2 the soldering I've done useless!
Now I'll have to test each set of wires individually to find which set is to which
speaker Unless of course someone knows off hand what color wires go to what in an 85 300D

Ah, I need to get a pair of those. I used some Scotch-Lock type of ones that are able to be removed.

I have power to my radio in the SDL but no sound to any of the channels, the harness behind the dash is far more complex than in the SD... I guess due to the availability of factory amps and whatnot in other vehicles.

I think im going to drop this off and have it installed by someone, I dont want to deal with bypassing the fader control and splicing those wires at this point buying another set of crimping tools to use once ever and possibly ****ing up the wiring seems less worth it now.

Have you considered a small external amplifier?

FAR less distortion, better frequency response, and they're decently cheap used. I'm talking about a 30x4 RMS from Alpine, Kenwood, etc. They're maybe $60 used, total installed is going to probably be another $40 with an 8awg wiring kit and some speaker wire.

Just some food for thought. I prefer to leave the fader intact incase I have to sell the vehicle so that nothing is chopped up behind the dash...

so I indeed paid to have this installed to bypass the console fader switch. $85 total ($75 labor and a $10 harness).
