I am interested in wiring a 2nd amplifier into my system. I already have 1 4-channel amplifier in the trunk with power, ground, and remote turn on cables. If I were to wire a 2nd amplifier, could I simply branch off the existing wires and wire the existing amplifier and the new one into the existing cables?

It depends on how thick the main power cable is. If its nice and thick, then you should be able to use a distribution block for it.
If its fairly thin, then you will want to run a new thicker gauge cable for the amps, and possibly you might put on a more powerful fuse system, like a glass fuse holder with a 40-60 amp fuse. The ground would be under the same situation, a good ground is key to keep engine noise out. The remote wire should be fine to just simply split off. You will probably be running new RCA cables for the new amp regardless, so running a new power line would not be a problem. Hope that helps, If I am wrong on this someone will correct me. Alon

Just be careful with the ground. Either ground the 2nd amp to the same point as the first, or do a 'mirror image', so ground it to the other side of where the other one is. The point is to make sure you have the same resistance from the amp to the -ve terminal of your battery on both amps. Otherwise you'll get ground loops, and that terrible whining sound. Using a distribution block can help here too. Just also remember to keep the ground wire as thick as, or thicker than the power wire(s)!
