Hi, sorry to bump an old thread, my brother and I were investigating how to add an aux line into a 1492 becker from my dad's car, and need the code now, coudln't find it in any of his records. SN: r1072337. Appreciate any help! Dealer can do it, but wants me to bring the car in, and schedule prevents me from doing so atm.

It took a 4 digit code, But I appreciate your effort none the less. I got it from a friend at the dealer yesterday afternoon. I had to pickup another coil for my SL. I think that's 7 down and 5 to go. eventually I'll have replaced them all
Again thank you for your help.

Hi there, having a problem with the stereo in me Mercedes, I had the battery changed and so need to enter a code to unlock. The main dealership has provided me with 2 codes but neither work so I'm not sure what to do other than buy a new stereo!

The stereo is a Mercedes Audio 10 CD player (MF2910) in a CLK 320 and serial number is AL2910 Y0343546.

Any help much appreciated! Thanks!

Hello guys. I'm new to the forum. I have a 95 Mercedes 300se and I don't have the code for the radio. (The battery dies so I have to disconnect the negative terminal at night or it will drain it). I have a Becker model BE 1492. The serial is R1089036. Can someone help me with the code? Thanks.

I haven't pulled the radio yet, but I do plan on swapping it with a Sony, what are the chances the last five digits on this card is the code? My German isn't that great

Umm, zero

That is the CD changer serial number.

Also you have a model 1692, not a 1492, in that car. (EDIT: I stand corrected, the 1492 is what you have in the 95 W124. The 1692 was used in the W210s. They look identical from the front.)

Does the car have the Bose speakers? If so you will need to get an integration adapter to convert the 4 line-level outputs from the Becker into the inputs of the Bose amp in the trunk.

Some people (including me) put higher value on an undisturbed (or readily reversible to stock) audio system. The Vegas strip looking radios with rice-grain sized controls do nothing for me.

I'm quite happy with that setup in my E300D. Sounds great to me. I do wish I had an aux input, I am working on that one to try hacking the CD player input to the radio. The fix running around the net is to tap into the tape head inside the unit but that seems hokey to me.

One thing I did, and I suspect you will be able to adapt to this car, especially if it is the Special Edition with the built in analog cell phone, is to stealth install a Parrot Bluetooth kit in the car for cell phone usage. I started a thread for that here in the Audio forum. This kit supports A2DP streaming as well for your music.

If you do decide to pull the existing system (or if you decide to keep it, you'll still need the code in case you disconnect the battery), you'll need the serial number off the radio itself and contact either Becker (Ed at 201-773-0976) or the dealer.

Do you have a set of DIN radio removal keys? You will need them to pull the radio. If not check with a Stereo shop or order them for a few bucks from Amazon.
