I have the stock Becker FM/Cassette unit in my 560SEL, and recently the right front speaker has been making a loud popping and static noise, and cutting out.

I checked the wire connections to the speaker itself, and they appear to be properly attached and normal. I am assuming that it is a problem from the radio unit itself. The popping is affected by bumps in the road, and also when I press on the face of the radio unit.

How can I access the connections at the back of the radio unit? Is it possible without major dismantling of the interior? Also, which connections are most likely to be causing the problem? Am I looking at a simple cleaning or replacement of the whole unit?

Thanks in advance for your advice and expertise.
