"Wait" on my Becker
My Becker radio is stuck in a "wait" state. Apparently once that quits you can input the code I have. I read an old thread which is now dead saying: "Apparently I had to wait 24 hours. Woke up this morning ready to input code!!"
I have what I believe is a code and serial number from my owner's manual and red Becker operation sheet but 24 hours seems a little unusual. Key in the on position that long would likely kill a battery would it not? Anyone know anything about this? |

You have to leave the key on probably overnight. That's what allowed me to input the code on my 1993 400SEL. Don't think that will kill the battery.

Obfuscation
Depending on the Model Becker...
you have to "WAIT" either 10-15 minutes before the screen says "CODE" again. OR "WAIT" 24 hours before the screen says "CODE" again .

The purpose of the wait is to deter thief. Not working will make the radio harder to sell.
The WAIT period varies depending upon how many times you entered the wrong code. It varies a little by radio model but 1 or 2 times the wait is about 15 min. More than 3 times it is 24 hours. Leave the key in the ignition in the accessories position (#1) until the radio prompts for the code again. |
