Final install...
Extreme temps caused a few "brownouts" at home, but most of it occurred in daylight, so I could continue working.
Taped the entire template wirh chrome duct tape and installed the LEDs. They came with 3M backing, so install was a snap! Also fabricated the connector to allow removal when necessary. Chrome convoluted wire loom was laying around from another project so I opted to use it. Note: Chrome coating flakes off incessantly, so I would not recommend purchasing the chrome looms! Wanted LEDs to illuminate when the sound system came on, so I tapped into the amps turn-on lead for power and the ground lead. THe LED harness is pretty thin so it might not be evident in the pic:

Used a 4-prong PC connector for this install:
And finally, tested by turning on the stereo.

Decided to build an amp rack with some scrap wood in the garage. Wanted to keep wiring neat.
Painted with a can https://speedtest.vet/ https://vidmate.bid/ of "flexstone": Wife called me in due to an outing with friends later, so I had to quit for the day. |
