Hi all - a quick question here. I'm about to purchase and install a CD changer for my 93 190. It has the Alpine OEM radio with CD controls built in and the wiring harness installed and waiting to be plugged in at the trunk. I went to discountcarstereo.com and they have a "complete" package of new gear for installation, including the changer (Alpine S620), magazine, interface, mounting brackets and hardware. Price is $309 (no tax as they're in NY). This is nice, as I figure it will be an easy installation (please correct me NOW if I'm wrong) - and every retail place around here wants between $475-$550 for the same thing. Question:
Are the mounting holes pre-drilled and if so where are they? I would assume that by the amount of cable supplied, the changer should be mounted flat up against the parcel shelf in the trunk. Where the mounting location should be in relation to the right-side speaker is beyond me. Any ideas?? Matt |

Their presentation is a little strange in that they don't specify if it's new, rufurbished, comes with everything needed for installation, etc. However, I've asked and the price (no tax and shipping incl) is GREAT. Have you used these guys?
And any idea as to the installation questions I posed? |
