Quality of audio output (AM/FM/cassette)has suddenly become extremely poor - bass intensive, no mid-range or treble, speech and sound almost unintelligble. Fader control has no effect; bass intensive noise appears to come simultaneously from front and rear speakers.
Any ideas as to the nature of the problem - Alpine radio head or Becker bass amp? And who handles Alpine repairs? My M-B dealer stated they didn't service Alpine units and no longer offered exchange units but did provide a contact number for Alpine. Alpine in turn stated they only handled repairs for authorized M-B dealers and declined to assist further. Any comments appreciated. TIA. |

You can get an aftermarket Alpine unit for under $300 to replace that OEM one.
