The power antenna on my 1980 300TD is stuck. I can hear the motor working, but antenna will only go up about 1/3 of the way. I tried lubing up the antenna without success. If I give the antenna a good tug while the motor is turning, it will go on up to full extension. It just feels like it is sticking. Do I need to replace the whole unit? If so, how difficult is the job? Thanks much!

You can replace just the mast. There is two slots on the bottom. You can order one from us in the partsshop.

I had the same problem and it was definitely the mast. A very easy fix. The M-B replacement mast even had instructions printed right on the bag. Antenna now works like brand new.
