1991 420sel power antenna hook up for aftermarket head unit
A little background first:
1991 420sel 6 speaker system installing Clarion DXZ645MP head unit I have the unit installed and it works great, sounds great. But I have no radio reception. Now I know this is due to the fact I don't have a coxaxial antenna input like normal cars do. So I would appreciate any help on wiring the antenna up properly. I have the power feature wired up correctly, antenna goes up and down fine, but just no reception. I've searched here and found threads with posts about a black wire coming off the becker unit. On this particular car, it is 2 black wires, in series with 1 male end and 1 female end. Do i split these 2 wires apart and use one for the antenna as I believe the other is for the rear amps. Any thoughts. ~dan |

You don't? Did you look in the trunk at the tuner module? You should find your antenna lead there. You just need to extend it up to the new head unit. |
