Radio question

My original "Becker Mexico" is not working anymore, exactly never did since I bought the car. I never missed the radio, but know that I'm driving a lot between LA and San Diego it would be nice to have a working radio, especially when I'm in traffic. Any Ideas about a good after market radio/CD player that I can easily hook up with out changing any wires.
I like to put it in the glove box, so the appearance of the car stays original, any suggestions?

I don't want to spend to much money, $150 max.

Thanks

In the glove box? Circuit City. If you spend $99 or more they will install for free.

Pull the radio

replace the micro fuse in the rear and re install.
There is a 90% chance this will fix your radio.
The fuse must come from the MB dealer, it is special.
Total cost = $3.00
Have a great day.

With the micro fuse you mean the one "between" the wires? The radio got power, all lights are on and there is a little "plof" when I turn it on.....but no sound...

Will try Circuit City tomorrow, the only thing is I heart so many horror story's about them.....

Send it to Becker NA, they rebuild them at a reasonable cost.

I think the guy's name is Ed Abel.

The display comes on, there is a green light.

When I bought the car the radio would work sometimes, but when I would apply the brakes there was a loud "squeaking" sound coming from the speakers. But after a while it stopped working completely.

Maybe I will send it to Becker, see how much they charge.

Sounds like a loose (now broken) ground problem to me.
