Also...Sony CDX-MP70 wiring...

If anyone has the wiring diagrams for the above mentioned sony head that would be greatly appreciated. Specifically I am looking for the wiring for the huge multi connector on the back that is a tangle of 16 multi-colored wires. I got the unit from a friend and it didn't come w/ any books Any sheet or links will be w/ undying gratitude!

the usual wiring diagram for any cd player would be

red-ignition
black-ground
yellow-contant 12v
blue-remote antenna
orange-illumination (can be hooked to ignition for contant on)

there will be 8 other wires with a similar color with a white strip going through them. these are speaker wires. the one with the white being negative.
obviously i missed some. can u tell me what colors are left?

Try the support section of www.sony.com for an on-line copy of the manual. I tried but I only found the usage manual, not the installation manual.

Here's what I have from the installation manual of my CDX-MP30:

- blue with white stripe = amp trigger
- white = left front (+)
- white with black stripe = left front (-)
- gray = right front (+)
- gray with black stripe = right front (-)
- green = left rear (+)
- green with black stripe = left rear (-)
- purple = right rear (+)
- purple with black stripe = right rear (-)
- yellow = hot always
- red = hot when key switch is on
- light blue = attenuate input (cell phone, etc.)
- blue = antenna trigger
- black = ground

I hope it's close.

I am looking at similar color wires for 8 speakers. You seem to have taken care of the red, yellow, blue and black... What's left is lt blue, dk bluw w/ white stripe, and orange w/ white stripe.
Man i miss the simpler days...
Thanks a ton ned2683
