WARNING turtle wax dash protectant, F21 is ARMORALL

OMFG I'M SO PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!

I hate armoral products, I REFUSE to use them. I've heard about the cracked dash's, lies over formula flaws, and all their bull**** that went with their mishap...

I even kicked in an extra $20 to the shop fund, so we'd get ANYTHING other then armoral products... Shoulda said mequires, because instead of armoral dash killer, we got the same stuff, in a turtle wax bottle. (http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/P/B0002KLB7E.01-ADG953YR6NRBF._SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg)

OMFG. Same nasty smell. Same greasy residue. Same color, same same same... except it's $5 a bottle, and armorall is $2 for a larger bottle

Be warned, I no longer trust turtle wax's cleaning chemicals. I'll still buy their microfiber towels, sponges, mitts, and whatnot (because that's all I can find), but there's no way in hell i'm buying any of their chemicals.

I'm extreamly miffed right now... We detailed our cars in shop (first "thing" we do, then oil changes, and then more intricit stuff) We each chipped in $10 (i did $30), so we could have supplies... I noticed that after I sprayed my dash with it... I immediatly cleaned it with a wet rag, and said there's no way I'm using this. I hope it didnt damage my dash...

Anyways, be warned, do NOT buy it, else you'll regret it
~Nate

303 is best for your dash. If you need to, contribute a little more to the shop fund so you can get 303.

out of the question apparently, the district paper pushers have allready signed the stuff, and we have what we need, apparently...

on the positive side, I convinced 9/10ths of my class not to use the turtle wax stuff, and we're gonna pool some cash to get mequires, or something else avalible locally...

Or, I could buy some, and charge people $ .50 to use it... could work

Still makes me mad that it's only repackaged armorall

I doubt it's repackaged armorall, but it's probably the same recipe.

However, armorall made in the last few years is actually water based, not silicone based, so it really shouldn't harm your dash anymore.

However, I still stay away from the stuff because I prefer a nice clean look, not greasy shiny fast food resteraunt burger stuff.

yeah, but if it's the same recipe, it's still a bad product IMHO

Armor all will NOT crack your dash, it is perfectly fine to use. I use 303 myself you can get it online or at boat places.

Yes, it will...

Cause I said so. Would you use it, if I sent you a bottle of it for free?

Anyone? That's not a personal attack at all, who'd use armor all on a car they love?

old timers still recall the cracked dashes that are the result of Armorall. They may have changed the recipe but who cares? I won't use or recommend any of that junk on a dash.
I recently had an opportunity to buy a virgin 123 dash, I had been waiting to find one. it was out of a car that was garaged most all its life, the shop owner had serviced the car for decades and recently it was hit from the rear and totalled. I was more than happy to pay $150 for the mint dash NO cracks, NO Armorall and all the wood and the door on glove box actually fits and closes! I'd buy these all day long if they were available

Nice language. Try and use some self-control in the future. Your flawed analysis along with your lack of tact dovetails with your age. Growup or post elsewhere!!!!

Yes I would use it and I am one of the most anal detailing people here. I have hundreds of dollars in top shelf supplies $80 jars of pinnacle souveran, Hitachi rotaries, PC's, Zaino, Klasse, etc...

Again it will not crack your dash.

There were issues way way back but the formula is different and it will not harm your interior. So send me the bottle and I'll use it.

Well, no one mentioned it yet so I'll bring up my dislike for the stuff, based on my experience which is that anything you put on the dash (or the seats for that matter) will evaporate over time and wind up leaving a film on the inside of the windshield. I don't like having to clean the glass when that stuff is in a car. it makes a hard job even harder.
Besides that I covered the dash on three of my cars (the ones with non cracked dashes) with dash carpets so I don't need to use any spray stuff on those. the others are so cracked its senseless to wipe them with anything less than a garden rake

I'd rather have a cracked dash than some cheesy dash carpet.

Anyways, I've never had a problem with any film appearing on the windshield with 303. I Always spray it onto the towel FIRST, then apply to the dash. After about a minute, I wipe off the residue.

in comparison F21 from turtle wax lasted longer shine wise to amorall. After 3 months my dash still shines from F21 in my W124. Just did a touch up today with F21, its far from amorall. Amorall wouldnt last on my tires or dash for a week. It would fade away with the sun hitting it. F21 with the sun always directly hitting my dash at the parking lot at my work still stays shiny.

I love the stuff, i dont use it on my tires. For that i use black magic tire shine. Its an oil like liquid and give a more "wet shine" then F21.

I don't like the greasy black dash look. Ugh my mom had bodywork done to her car and they detailed it afterwards. They put armorall or something on the rubber floormats so they were all slippery and nasty for a week.

DDH, I've seen a lot of people here mention dash carpets for protecting their dash from sun damage. Is it the UV in the sunlight or the heat that causes the dash to crack? It seems to me like the heat would be the biggest culprit. How would a carpet alleviate the heat problem?
