Adhesive to use for glueing wood trim

As the subject says, my center wood trim piece has fallen off. Wondering if there's a specific adhesive I can use to hold it in place for the next 25 years?

The problem I see with adhesives is that they easily tend to leak out and become visible as dried glue outside of the wood trim.

I replaced a few dash pieces with some double-sided carpet tape that I trimmed to fit. So far so good and if I want to do something different and permanent in the future, I can easily remove.

E-6000 Dries clear, remains flexible - withstands vibration and temperatures between -40 and 150 degrees F. Apply glue both to the back of the wood trim and the surface in the car. Wait 10 minutes. Make sure you get the positioning exactly right before sticking the trim to the car - no repositioning.

The main drawback is the long cure time before it reaches full strength so for the curved parts that have to be forced to fully conform to the curvature of the dash you have to build a scaffold to keep the trim pressed onto the dash to ensure full glue contact between the two surfaces.

Is that any different than regular contact cement like Weld Wood?

I’ve always used Gorilla Glue for my trim needs. Just a little bit and than putting it under pressure too keep it together. Spectacular results, and I doubt they will come apart in the next century.

Also I should note the trim need to be taken off of the dash to use Gorilla Glue. Doing while pressed to the dash will get mediocre results, in my opinion.

Is this about glue between the metal fixing and the wood or between veneer and wood?

Smile 3M Super Strength Molding Tape

I believe I have reviewed several other threads on this subject. Many people suggest glues/adhesives and a few suggest various double sided tapes. However other than suggesting the brand of tape they rarely ever list the actual name of the product with item numbers. I recently removed mine and prepared the metal and wood trim on my glove box door and then used "3M Super Strength Molding Tape" They say this is AUTO/Advanced item number 03615. Its been hold for 2 weeks now and I'll let it be know if it fails as summer in Texas is beginning.

In addition to cleaning the surfaces once I made the contact I placed weight on it for several hours before the item was replaced on the Glove door and then in the car.

I used tape because when I removed the trim it appeared to me to be tape that was there before. Just seemed to be anything other than glue but maybe I am mistaken.
