I need some input from those experienced with new seat skins.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new set for this 85 380 SE body.

I'm asking for input from people who have bought new leather for the 81-85 early W126. Of course, price is always a factor but I won't give up quality.

I've never done it but would expect a new "kit" to be a bad choice. Probably best to take it to Sue's (fast 'n' loud reference in case you haven't seen the show) or someone like that...

GAHH Auto Upholstery in N. Hollywood, CA has the best Mercedes Upholstery kits by far. Not cheap, but the best.

The lesser quality kits require more fineageling. They can look great though.

Gahh it is. It's looking like a 1500 dollar venture so I'll have to start gathering coke bottles again.

Do you still get money back on the bottles?

Probably not. If I can't find a co-signer I'll just have to go straight to armed robbery?

Clemson88,
I bought a kit from German Auto tops in California for my W124 Cabriolet and had it installed in Easley. GAHH didn't offer my year. Was not impressed with the installation, but, the quality of the leather and sewing is pretty good. Front and back seats with headrest covers for the front was $1500. You are welcome to contact me if you would like to look it over. I'm in Simpsonville. Besides, have many car friends in the area, always good to add to contact list!

I have received many compliments on my r107 interior kit from GAT. It would have been less work on my side with the gahh or world upholstery. I work labor for money though, so I went for GAT.

That add looks like seat covers which go over the factory skins but the price says german leather and superior quality. You let me know which is accurate.
