Engine Mount Bolts
Today I had a weird experience in my 240D. I was turning around by my house to park and my car started shaking terribly. I shut it down and opened the hood to find that the motor was slanted in the engine compartment and the two arms that come out of the block had lost their bolts and were therefore no longer attached to the mounts on the crossmember. So...I caution you all...Check your mount Bolts!!! They are an 8mm allen screw and they come up through the crossmember through a hole from below.
Just thought I would give you all the heads up.

Somewhere there's a list of nuts'n bolts that require regular tightening, say as part of annual maintenance. I think the list also includes oil filter cannister mounts and air filter housing nuts.
Can anybody think of other nuts'n bolts that we should be checking? |

That one is hard to figure. When you go to remove those two allen headed bolts they can be very hard to get out. Usually it takes an impact wrench to rattle them loose.
