Super nice car. This one is worth whatever the collector is willing to pay. Considering the mileage I don't think it will reach 16k, but who knows. I say collector beacuse anyone who needs a good daily driver can find one for a whole lot less and just as dependable.

Cheers,

Bill

That is one beautiful 300D. All I know is that if I were a collector, and money wasnt a concern, it would be mine. Id buy her, wax her up, and put her in the garage!

What are the straps for that are on the seat backs? Must be some sort of Euro market option?

Nate

Never seen those straps and didn't notice them on my first look. My guess is to hold something too heavy for the net to hold.

Anybody know for sure??

Cheers,

Bill

Well, if he's the bidder, then I'd say the car.

i think those straps are some sort of lumbar adjustment support... i have one in my wagon (though it doesnt have the lower part anymore) and whenever someone pulls it.. the back rest seems to have something rise on it.. and provide better support on the lower back.

i may be wrong though.. but that's how it works on mine..heehhe

What it's worth

Cant guess what it would go for but assuming I had the necessary funds I'd make sure it became mine even if it went way above 16 K.

Lol

Look at the Q&A part at the bottom of the auction. Which one of YOU let him know about "customer service" -- take a look at his answer! LOL

Guy is a riot.

You're correct. You were the closest. I bought it for $9,800 and now have to get it shipped to its new home. The color is either the same or quite close to my '87 300TD.

Okay. I hadn't taken the time to read all of the postings.

Brian, this was the solution (not) to running out of things to fix on my 300TD. Now I can use one as a snowmobile and the other for summer. Guess which one will get the winter role?

At least while I'm working on one, I can still drive something other than my bus.

I'm going to guess that the 300TD becomes the snowmobile and the 300DT ventures out of the garage a couple of times each summer.

Below is a quote I received via e-mail from another eBay buyer . . .

"Dude, are you crazy? A Mercedes 300d that was nicer went last week for $6,000. $9,800 is insane. I think you went nuts in emotional bidding. That car will require lots of maintenance and repairs in my opinion."

Guess after owning/driving it some I'll know if the mystery shopper knows MBs or not.
