I've had it with not having cup holders... where can I get one ?

Hey.

I've kind of had it with not having cup holders in my car. I went to Strauss Discount Auto today to try and find one and they only had these little cheap things that seemed so flimsy. What the heck was wrong with the Germans when they designed this car ? This is such a perfect car except the cup holders....

Where would I be able to find a nice one or what do you guys use ? Price is not an issue, I just want a cup holder.

Thanks,

Kamil

I made my own that go into the center console... they are very crude, but it's just a prototype...

My understanding is that in Germany, they are not allowed to eat or drink on the Autobahn while driving and in fact report anyone they see violating that rule. Of course they never had the sleep inducing 55... Heck, I'll make a deal with the government. I wont eat, drink, talk on cell phone or any other distraction and they let me go 150mph.

Mine is like this one, except made out of pine, and threw it together in about 20 minutes...

I could never make one that nice, well I could if I had the tools... I thought someone was going to get a patent on the design...

I have one between my legs , seriously. I hardly ever drink in the car, but when i do, its either a bottle that gets thrown into the passenger seat, or a cup of fast food drink in between my legs.

I have the identical ones that are sold by Drinkholders.com. (See post #2 above), except that mine are all black and were bought last year at Wall-Mart, and were a lot CHEAPER. The cost was $5.99 each. They are well constructed, and do work well. I have not seen them last time I was at Wall-Mart, so am not sure if they still carry them.

I installed two of them. One besides the driver's right foot on the vertical portion of the console to the left of the gear Shift. The other is installed on The opposite side. No interference, with your foot whatsoever, even when open.

Today, also at Wall-Mart, I bought a plastic tissue holder. It looks like a large coffee cup and is meant to fit into a car's cup holder. Its refillable, comes with 50 tissues, and costs $1.00. Also works, and looks great.

I bought one at drinkholders.com a couple of years ago. I had it custom made with the zebrano wood inlay. I bought the one that sits in the center console and it fits like a glove and looks OEM.

It was pricey,,,,,, $50, but it was the best $$$ I have ever spent.

My wife is notorious for spilling coffee in the emergency switch so... I came up with this, holds two Stanley 16 oz. tankers. The extra space on the left will hold a coin dispenser when I find the right one. It uses the two tabs from the console mount behind the stock zebranno piece to secure to the dash with longer screws. prototype is of pine but will find something of a better match for the final one.
