R Leo, is that the car designed by willy messerschmitt? As for cars I would not want to be seen in I guess it would have to be in any girlfriends car by the wife. The brand, appearence, or model does not matter it would just include any car.. That is if I had a girlfriend.

Yeah, I think that was a Messerschmitt that had been wrecked and they 'modified' it...

Welll there isnt a car I wouldnt want to be seen in.... i dont care about that really, but there are plenty of cars i wouldnt want to own.

I think thhe ugliest cars are the cars that have been made in the past 15 years or so aside from Volvo, MB's up until the demise of the W210 and W202, ....thhey all seem so anonymous, sloppy shapes (round blobby shapes with no apparent attentiion to detail), lots of unattractive plastics in interiors, and if they are less anonymous looking, they tend to be ugly-
Aztec
Rendezvous
Scion XA
Vibe
Matrix
ANY Hummer
Subaru Baja- or whatever the current re-incarnation of the Brat is (although I really like the old Brats... kinda funky cool in a "retro" sense)

And Im not too fond of the Honda and Acura SUV's, and the new Honda Pickup.... their wheel bases look to wide, and the distance from front to rear wheels at a view from the side looks too short.

I could go on and on...

BUT I will say that I love all of those eastern european cars... Lada, Tatra, Trabant, etc.. purely for their funky design aesthetics...

And I LOVE french cars.... I would kill for a 1979 Peugeot 504 Wagon- Big, appealing styling, annd no better way to carry yourself and 8 other friends around, IN STYLE. Conjures up visuals of riiding along a country lane in France.... car full of friends, a picnic basket, plenty of wine and some music.... maybe parking next to a lake to go for a swim, or parked along the route of the Tour DeFrance...... watching the bicyclers go by while spreading some brie onto a slice of freshly baked bread......

I would also like to own a Ciitroen DS21 some day... as someone said earlier.. very chic, and representational of true automotiive design and engiineering prowess.... such a revolutionary car!

[QUOTE=oldnavy]I don't remember for sure what the list price was, but I think around $3,200, with PS, PB, a/c, radio/castte player, a 4 spd. Yes it would hall a%s but my '66 Impalla 396 SS (375hp) with 4 spd, 4:11 positrack would smoke it. I kept the Impalla till late '72, when I decided I needed to get out of the hotrods and settle a little. Oh the AMX was in the junkyard by late '71, totaled by deer & tree.

the bass player in our h.s band got an amx. he worked it hard, hi rise, med rise bigger carb, tweo carbs and it got slower tha more he worked it. finally sold it. i don't remember what he bought but it went to show ya that daddys money won't make the car go fastrer if you don't know anything about cars!

another friend had a 69 malibu convert. 454 4 spd. a real tire turning monster. he sold it and went to college. haven't seen him in years although he bought a home not far from where we grew up.

what don't i want to be seen in?hmmmmmm 6 cyl duster.

Cool

A friend owned a Pontiac dealership.... so I felt slightly obligated to buy into a Pontaic one time----a serious departure for someone like me who has always purchased foreign cars.

I'll cut to the chase: what really soured me on that Pontiac was the day that I found myself trying to adjust the aim of the headlights. Congratulations to the GM engineer who thought of a way to aim headlights for a total of EIGHT CENTS EACH! What a POS car. It was a 1988 Sunbird---if that matters. Once you see a manufacturer take such incredibly stupid shortcuts, you lose all faith in them forever.

Warning to anyone considering a GM product: Take a look at the headlight adjusters. If that doesn't send you running out of the showroom, you are a brave soul. Don't even get me started talking about head gaskets--between a cast iron block and an aluminum head!

I hope never to be caught dead (or alive) in another GM vehicle!

Oh let me see where to start. A kia, Hyundai, Yugo, Pugeot, Citroen, Renault, Saab, I could keep going and going. Now if any of these were in a diesel format I may be persuaded to change my mind.
