Glow Plug question
i replaced the glow plugs in my 300D with the standard ones with a wire loop. the ones i took out were the pencil type. all are wired in series. now there is no glow plug indicator light and it won't start. why?
i can put the old ones back in, it will start, but i thought this would improve starting for the winter. |

You need to get a NEW set of the style you took out. The loop type are not what you want.

The loop type are not designed for your glow system. The glow elements are insulated from the block and ground buy completing a circuit to the consecutive glow plugs and a ground strap attached to the first glow plug. They also use resistor wires between glow plugs. The pencil style are designed for 12v each and only require a single connection each as they ground to the block. The two are not interchangeable.
