Smile ADLA Module Setting

Hi All:
Just a quick question. I set my ADLA module one turn CCW (richer) from the original setting resulting in improved performance from a stop. (I read about this at another forum).
My question is: Is there any risk such as engine damage running this setting richer?

In theory, yes.....any increase in fuel on a deisel increases the Exhaust gas Temp.....if that excedes 1,200 degress farenheit...pre turbo you can do damage. but if it doesn't then you are fine....thats why an EGT Pyrometer is important when you tweak a deisel.

Yes...it all depends on the pre adjustment settings.....odds are its underfueled due to age. But if its not and your adjustment bumps it into being overfueled then you have a problem.

Your N/A 240D?............not sure I have the Cojones to drive something that slow with the nuts around here. I see several but I need something faster myself.

Have you ever noticed that the slow polks are seldom in the crash's, it's the ones zooming down the road. When I drive the Jetta it's hard for me to keep it under 80 mph and enjoy the sights, the 240D now that's far more relaxing and driver friendly. The only reason for taking the Jetta on our road trip most of the time is 240D 31 mpg and Jetta 46 mpg average, 50% savings is hard to turn away from.

Lot of people getting rear ended around here.......

I am considering A Jeta TDI to replace my aging and rusting saturn....ANd the Honda too.

Hehehehe... The NB TDI is more fun to drive then the Jetta and takes rear end & nose smacks better then a Jetta and with those plastic fenders no rust and few parking lot dents. The insurance is cheaper on the TDI NB then the Jetta and was even cheaper then my wife's piece of crap Toyota Echo.

NB? do you mean the MB CDI? thats not an option.....this is to be primary car so needs to be 100% reliable. Won't drive my 300SD in the winter due to road salt..... and will be giving up 2 cars to buy it....truck won't fit in parking garage downtown so thats not a fallback vehicle for work.

NB= New Beetle The actual name for the VW Beetle is New Beetle hence the term NB.

When my NB was smacked in rear it had no visiable damage, and the other car had $1500 in damage and was totaled because it was a late '80's midsized MOPAR.

OH, I see. Nope Not a fan of the new beetle....I would get a Gulf 2 door first....But like the roomier size of the Jetta.

NB has more front passenger room then even a Passat and when you fold down rear seat and open hatch it will hold about the same as Golf 2dr hatchback.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, drive a TDI NB and you will be in love. They have a sporter suspension then a Jetta, and will blow away a Jetta in the curves. It's 1" lower and will just terrorize the ricers if you remove the muffler, chip it, and install oversized injectors an it will sound like a Porsche.

Oh I intend to hot rod it a bit....But still prefer the Golf to the Beetle...
