Wood trim r & r

Can anyone tell me how to remove the wood trim piece to the right of the glove box door on my 1983 SD. I bumped this trim yesterday and the laminate just popped off. It looks like the laminate is glued to an aluminum sheet and that is glued to another piece of wood and then the whole thing is attached to the dash. It looks like it would be a lot easier to repair off the car.

Does no one have an answer to the primary problem, please?

both sides of reds dash came off the other day intact. must not be enough humidity to keep the glue together. what is the best glue to use to re attach? must the pieces be cleaned first?

Try this one. Plenty of glue possibilities.

How to reattach wood trim?

If you mean must the old glue be cleaned off... I would say yes... the only time in my life I have had knowledgable people say " cut off and leave the old " to be glued to was the 3M rep talking about the new glue in windshields.. seems if it is still stuck you just fill in and use the new cut surface to glue to...instead of trying to clean the metal/paint area.
As to best glue... I am pretty sure this has been discussed in the archives by some pretty serious guys... might should check there for best answer....
