What? Are your mounts different?

I figure this mount could go at least a 1/2 mil. more miles.....When I get some time and warmer weather I'll replace this, the other side, the tranny mounts and possibly the engine shocks.

actually, that looks oily, but not nearly as bad as the ones I replaced. Seriously.

Talking

When I poke it, it has the consistancy of room temperature gummi bears.

mmmmm gummi bears.....(No I havn't actually tasted it to see if it tastes like gummi bears......)

The new one I have to replace it with is somewhat firmer. I have high hopes for clunk reduction after replacement of the mounts but time will tell....

Don't wait too long on those engine mounts. I think it was a thread titled "oily mess", a collapsed mount caused a belt to saw into an oil cooler line I believe.

Also "One of the better reasons to change your motor mounts"...my thread

Also...the firm mounts will soften up a little once they get broke in.
I would recommend you try to alleviate some of that oiling if you want your next mounts to have a fair chance. At the very least, give that engine a GOOD cleaning before you jump on it and replace goodies.
Motor mounts are bad enough heh

Let us know how it goes.

Yeah Gunk that engine and clean it up. Then you can find some of the leaks and fix them. I wouldn't change the mount until you find the leak that is covering them. Oil destroys rubber.
