Easy way to kill a turbo

Remove the U tube and keep driving.
Seen this so often it makes me sick.
Junk turbo in a day under the wrong conditions = no U tube and heavy road grit/dust/sand...

Dr. Bonehead-- I hope you are also a Dr. of psychiatry because I'm going to take your advice and not worry any longer about my turbo.

Very few people have turbo problems.........so statisticly speaking, you are unlikely to also. Thats the basis of my statement. I generally keep real close tabs on my cars.........brakes, tires, when the oil is due for changing, etc.......those are far more important to keep an eye on.

My '85 300SD had roughly 290,000 on the turbo before I replaced it with a federal version turbo. (the old one is still good)
My California SD is in the collision shop right now so I can't check.

Are the Federal and California turbos interchangable? Is one the KKK and the other a Garret?
