Removing Wiper Arm
Does anyone now how to remove the Mono Wiper Arm mechanism from a '95 E300D (W124 Body). Not the wiper blade, but the arm mechanism itself.
I need to gain visual access to the rubber seal underneath the black plastic cover. Its allowing rain water to enter the cabin through the firewall, and to accumulate on the driver's side floor. Thanks Phil

You have a leak.
![]() Best guess is blower motor or housing. ![]() The monoblade and motor are in engine compartment, the blower motor is under the wiper assembly, if the case has begun leaking, you need better direction. ![]() Suggest you subscribe to: http://alldatadiy.com/ Individual Online Diagnostic and Repair Information for the Automotive Enthusiast $24.95 for the initial vehicle and $14.95 for each thereafter, ALLDATA DIY is your online source of individual car care information which includes Full Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), Maintenance schedules, Component locations and Illustrated diagnosis and repair procedures. The water first leaks into the engine compartment. I can see it drip on top of the Brake booster. It than runs down the break booster, and ends-up inside the car, through the firewall, on the driver's side floor.
It leaks when I spray water on the base of the wiper arm. I also noticed that the rubber gasket around the base of the wiper arm does not make a good seal. That's way I would like to remove the wiper arm, and get a visual on what's going on. Phil

There is a leaf shield under the wiper arm, it does not stop water.
The entire bezel must come out to find the leak. Broken gromet, RUST blower box seal, etc, etc. ![]() |

Basically what I am trying to do is remove, or lift the large black roundish rubber/plastic cover at the base of the arm in order to have a peak underneath. Does that cover come off easily, if so how?
In fact, about a year ago, I noticed that this cover had dislodged. It somehow had lifted-up on its own. At the time, I just pushed on it, and it went back into place. I just don't know how to remove it at will. Thanks Phil
