Is there a go faster turbo for 123

Just wondering. Seems to me that the diesel engine would accept a slightly more powerful compressor than the garrett oem on the 123. Has anyone swapped in a different turbo ?

Not much use in putting in a bigger turbo unless you also crank the full load fuel delivery. Of course, you will need an intercooler if you decide to do that.

You need to intercool the engine before you can get more power. Once intercooled, turn up the injection pump. Once you've reached that limit, then you can install custom manifolds, a larger turbo, and larger elements in the injection pump.

See this thread: OM 617 intercooler and pump adjustments

....and (just maybe) you will eventually get to replace pistons, rods, crank, etc.

Be careful how hard you push it.

just my $.02,
Wes

Just use a little propane injection.

Wes, the 603 can be tuned to ~420 HP on the stock rods, pistons, and head. I'd imagine that the 617 is somewhere around 300 HP. That should be enough to satisfy just about anyone, considering that it's 3 times the stock output.

Or you could upgrade the turbo, add a supercharger and a huge intercooler, and handcraft some custom intake/exhaust manifolds like these guys...

That turbocharged+supercharged 617 is insane. I want to see videos of them playing with it.
