Looks promising. Then again, many ideas have looked promising over the years.

Just wondering what Beethoven has to do with ceramics, but maybe I'm missing something.

I think these guys are a bit off on the math:

"+150% more power"
"1 liter (61 cubic inch), 400 kW (500 horses)"

Let's see, a super efficent 1 liter gasoline engine might make 150 HP, so 150% of that would be......500hp? Someboby skipped a few too many math classes. Also, what do you suppose the underhood temps of a non cooled engine would be. The necessary insulation and/or compartment cooling devices would offset a good portion of the weight savings in having no engine cooling.

If you guys don't believe Krawsczyn...you need to look up some of his other posts, and just look at some of the past things he has said on here. He has always been someone i ask questions when i need to know something. And he appears to be hardly ever wrong. as said above, you guys are jealous.

All he did was post a link. No opinions, no promotion, no explanations. How do you know it's not a joke?

BTW, silicon is NOT a ceramic.

I'm not disputing that there are ceramic based engines out there or that they are more effiecent than iron/alloy engines. I'm just suggesting that some of the claims might be exagerated a bit as often happens when these stories get passed along. I'd love to see a whole new class of engines that could double fuel economy. It would be an OPEC nightmare (unless of course we all decide we need to double our horsepower as opposed to our fuel efficency - how about a 1,000 hp 600SL?)
