'92 300D .... w124 or w201
I might be looking for an additional vehicle soon and wanted to do some homework. I've been interested in a w124 chassis car with the 2.5 TurboDiesel.
Is a '92 300D such a car? Where can I find more info on the 300D's... Such as what years were they produced and what engines they came with. Reason I'm interested in this type of car is that I might be looking to find a car to rack miles on and something that is efficient and can run well in the snow with snow tires.

The 92 300D is a W124 with a OM602 engine. The 602 engine in the 201 (baby Benz) chassi was in the late 80s. There is a really cool guide for this somewhere on the web ... I'll dig through my favorites file and see if I saved it ...

Check that out ... it's geared for Euro availability (hence the listing of A- and G-class cars and other fun stuff we don't get here), but the info on production years of the 124 cars is pretty much on target for here: 1987, the OM603; 1990-93, the OM602 and 1995, the OM606. I'm sure someone here can set you straight if I'm wrong ...

Thanx.... The OM606 I've got is great. So I'd figure getting another diesel might be the way to go.
