Question How do I remove

door trim? I need to take of the inside panel on the drivers door and I can get the panel loose but I need to remove the trim that goes up the window frame in order to completly remove the panel. I tried just pulling on it but it didn't move and I'm afraid to pull to hard until I know if this how it done.

I just came back from the store and when I was there I saw an early 1980s 300D in the parking lot so I walked over to take a look. Some one must have put some serious $ into the interior. It looked like it just came off the show room floor with full padding and perfect stiching on all seams and no cracking anywhere, even on the dash and carpeting that looked new. I hung around for a little bit to see who was driving this car but finally ran out of time.

Remove the interior lock pull by unscrewing it.
Remove the phillip head screws under the arm rest.
Remove the window winder by pulling back the plastic filler and the clip to the winder shaft.
Remove two phillip screws to latch surround.
Pop the panel edge anchors.
Panel must be lifted up parallel to the window frame. do not pull out, as plastic guide fingers will break off inside the door panel.

That's about it I seem to remember ....

To remove the trim piece the goes up the window frame, unscrew the small screw on the outside upper part of the frame, then the trim piece will slide up and off. Don't forget to unhook the electrical leads to the courtesy light on the bottom of the door panel before pulling off the panel.
