Why i couldn't use a transmission jack on my 85 300D trans install...
The combined height of the transmission and jack was higher than the car's bottom! I couldn't raise it higher than I did, I had the car some 2 feet in the air as it was, any higher would have been unsafe.
The trans was very heavy, say 170 to 200 pounds, and I couldn't lift it into place with my arms. I ended up building a wierd scaffolding to raise it higher and higher into place. What a disgusting job, slimy grimy fluid all over the place, hot day, muscles all torn and shoulder wanted to come out of its socket when I was done.. |
