How difficult to bring her to the US of A?

Link to the car

I guess that you'll need to be able to read German.
What do you think ?

Very

There are so many small differences, you will need documentation from the factory that you have modified the car to meet all EPA and DOT standards. 25+ year old cars are easy, newer cars are impossible.

Go or click your state dmv and find out the requirements for 'importing a vehicle from another country', the hardest part is the paperwork from customs, might be better of buying a w140 300sd thats already here.

What would shipping cost for a car to be brought over? I was always interested since I used to be looking for a gas fintail and I thought a euro one would be the best.

Thanks
David

Wow I would love to get my hands on one of those! Whats $12,500 euro? $17k? There must be importers that know how to do this. I bet it costs over $10k though. Still cheaper then a nice but common S430.

Into California? Into Marin County? It won't be worth the money vs rolling your own from a 95 S350 and a 98-99 E300. See if Europa in Arizona is still in the business. Maybe Norm Kaiser in San Jose can help too.

The Rube Goldberg way would be to get it into Canada then into an 'easy' US state then into California. They're less strict about a car moving with immigrants than California residents making out-of-state purchases.

Shouldn't it have 6-spoke wheels?

What is the US's fascination with leather? Those fabric covered seats look perfect to me.

P.E.H., TD probably means turbodiesel.

you could call wallenius lines. they are roro ocean carrier. the car would be driven on board the ship then tied to the floor with strong fabric tow straps along with other cars coming in to the usa. port of delivery prolly baltimore. wallenius could prolly get a forwarder also. since it is in germany call the local office of kuhne-nagel or schenker international. both german based forwarders as for import department. the other way would be to contact a high end auto importer and ask if they will handle the transaction for you

then get ready for the emissions nightmare. there is a nice days inn near the ball park in balt i would reccommend. even take in an orioles game as the park has to be seen. it is a great redo of old time ball parks.

my guess is less than 3 grand and maybe less than 2 grand since the car will get a cubif foot rate or minimum bill of lading.

For all you hear about California one thing they don't inspect is Diesel passenger cars. They're very strict about DOT and EPA certification on 'imports,' though.

Sure. No problem bringing in an out-of-state car. Two of my three cars were originally delivered outside California. A non US-spec car is a different story new or used.
