"As I have stated over and over, I would have used R-12 if available."--Diesel Giant
Clearly there is a national conspiracy to keep Diesel Giant from being able to buy R12.... even though anyone else with a 609 certification can buy it cheap... |

I was asked offline what damage can be casued by these blends...most of which are mostly R134.
As I understand it the R134 has a higher pressure that puts more strain on the compressors leading to higher failure rates...then you have the oil compatibility issues requireing a proper flush...and damage that results if it isn't. THen you have the issues of the smaller molecules of the blends leaking away at different rates upseting the blend....then you have the issues of people who don't put the proper service fittings on their lines that can make a mecahnic ruin an entire recovery machines load of previously Clean R12 and the large expense this incurs on the mechanic...Refridgerant identifiers are not cheap and that adds cost for these guys becasue somebody didn't follo the law. Plus the fact that many of these blends are not legal do to flamibility issues in most states. Add in the fact that R12 prices are not that high to justify a blend over a Pure refrigerant. Now I am no A/C expert and I freely admit this to all but I have gathered all this info using the search function over the last year or so. Now Leathermang or Larry Bibile if I mistated something here please correct me.

So in post 166 Diesel Giant stated very clearly that he plans to vent 134, while in post 171 he calls me pathetic for catching him in his own statement.
Once you make two contradictory statements you have proven that one of them is not the truth. I won't use the "L" word. Have a great day, |

![]() It is amazing how sarcastic you all are, but it is funny and entertaining ![]() Any yes there may be a conspiracy. But the fact is...well you can read, and I am not going to keep stating my point over and over. Mr Larry Bible: as I stated after that comment about venting, it was a joke. Please read ALL the posts to be a better informed poster.

Larry: Read the post very slowly and you will see the venting statement was a joke as I said in post after that. "Pathetic" was to state that you actually though I was being serious.
Now that we have that out of the way. Lets talk about the pros and cons of using Freeze 12 over other blends not R-12. Chant with me...we all prefer R-12, we all prefer R-12.... Lets leave the personal attacks out of it, OK?

Diesel Giant,
I have now reread both of the posts to which I refer. I cannot find ANY indication whatsoever that you were joking on any post. There are no smiley faces, no If you want to make a joke that's fine. I have a sense of humor. Just make it clear that it is a joke. When you start throwing insults such as pathetic, it's just in my nature to throw them back. I'm not the sort that will not defend myself whether it's verbal or physical. So, we are right back to the same place. SAY WHAT YOU MEAN AND MEAN WHAT YOU SAY! Have a great day, |

Larry,
Read post #171. Or here is the whole post: You guys are really pathetic Do you really think I will vent the freon into the air??? Of course I WON'T! I will use the appropriate EPA approved recycling station, just like I did on the other unit. Yes is is UL approved also. Conforming to all applicable laws Federal, State and Local So just relax and take a deep breath, it will all be ok. 1) I said "you guys" meaning not just you. "pathetic" meaning you should have read the whole pictorial, and known that I use the proper equipment, ie recycling machine. I mention it AND have pics of it in the pictorial. I will assume you never got that far. ITS NOT AN ATTACK on you or anybody else. You even went so far as to call, or excuse me, IMPLY I am a liar.(post #184) So if that is not the pot calling the kettle black, well then ok. I suggest we end this line of debating. It is getting old. ![]()

Whether or not you recovered the refrigerant in your how to has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with your post 166 where you flat out said that you were going to vent 134. All I can go by is what I read. Your DIY was some time back and believe it or not I don't go back and worship your DIY article and pay it homage on a regular basis.
AGAIN, say what you mean and MEAN what you say! As far as calling you a liar, I stopped short of using the word. You are the one that used that word. When you say one thing and then turn around and say the absolute opposite, there is absolutely no other conclusion that can be reached. If you meant it as a joke, then fine, but I would strongly suggest that when you make a joke, make the fact that it IS a joke very clear. Have a great day, |

Ok, I read it AGAIN. Now YOU need to go back and read post 166 AGAIN. In case it is not obvious 166 comes BEFORE 171 and THAT is where you STATED, with no inferrence to being a joke, that you will VENT 134. THAT is what drew my response.
I think it is time that YOU get over it. Face it, you made a statement and THEN contradicted YOUR OWN statement. Have a great day, |
