Sadly, I believe this to be the case. I don't know if you missed the peak in junkyard availability- perhaps so. I think its more like the W123s time to show up there. But they do pop up, and I think, are more likely to have good vinyl than the 123s.

Also, there something to be said for the original Mercedes stuff. The replacement MB tex we got does not look nearly as durable as the old stuff and the workmanship is NOWHERE NEAR what Mercedes did. Seams that were originally welded together were stiched, and were not nearly as sturdy. I can't see the replacement set of covers going more than 10 years.

As for carpeting, you would be amazed at how well you can clean it with a pressure washer. Just use a little care.

My wife, who wanted everything new in the first place, I think would agree that clean used original Mercedes stuff is the best option
