Primer Pump

I wanted to replace the little clear hand pump on the right side of the engine because it leaks a lil diesel. I thought it was called the primer pump, but I am obviously mistaken as the one on fast lane looks nothing like this. Anybody know what I am talking about?

Humm

The primer pump wouldn't be "clear" The little in line, primary fuel filter is. The new upgraded primer pumps are a smaller diameter and black, w/o the round knurled knob on top. Thats what I'm guessing your looking at. Which is what you want.

"Will the new upgraded pump fit into the old housing?"

Just unscrew the old one and the new one fits right in. Best thing too use too get the old one out is a "faucet wrench"

The primer pump has been redesigned and is supposed to be better than the original. I bought a new one a few months ago. In the meantime, however, my old one quit leaking after I tightened it a little more....so I'm waiting until I have other things to do under the hood before I replace it.
