Gas prices around here have been down for a while...like around 2.39 a gallon for RUG... at least 3 bucks for diesel of course. But hey, people can buy their gasoline powered 10 mpg SUVs again till the next price hike!

Gas is dropping like a rock. I saw regular for $1.98 today. Diesel is still around $2.85 or so in Northern Delaware.

Well it was still $2.63 at the cheapist place in my area, yesterday at least I didn't go by their today.
It drives me nuts that regular is $.50+ less then diesel. What I do know if these prices are here to stay with diesel being a lot higher then premium I will be buying gas next time around. Diesel loses all of its advantages when it costs so much more then gas.

Hey All-
I'm also disturbed that gas prices have been dropped somewhat, while diesel remains high. I think it's interesting too, that people driving gassers are thrilled they are paying $2.50 a gallon here in Chicago because "Well, at least it's not $3.00 a gallon anymore!" That's STILL much higher than forecasters predicted, and much higher than the proportional increase in crude prices. In short- we're all being screwed and we're happy to let it happen because it's better than paying $3 a gallon. I'll keep driving my diesel though- (even at $3 a gallon) I can't afford another car purchase right now, and I'm still getting twice the milage in the 190 than most see in a gasser. By the way- here's a great site for finding cheap gas in your area- it's saved me about $18 in the last month: www.gasbuddy.com -cheers- J |

RUG's 1.88 and the day before my wreck, I filled up with diesel at 2.22. I was thrilled. This was at a truck stop off of I-40 east of OKC. The highest I've seen it is 2.39 at the store where I work.

The $2.20's are spreading. It went from 2.39 to 2.25 at the store by my work. The cheapest I've seen is still the 2.22 when I filled up.

drove the sdl
to ohio and back over friday-sunday. filled up in eastern indiana at loves truck stop. 2.369 diesel. driving 80ish only got 21, but at fillup the car was tipped toward the drivers side so i may have been able to get extra in.
so winter fuel actually gives less mileage, eh? i always just guessed thicker oil and more idling was the trouble. tom w
