The other car lost the radiator, front bumper and side lights. The sad thing is that mine was worse off visually. I hit her just off center of the middle of her front bumper with the far left side of my bumper (almost diagonally).

Man that's two within almost a week. I also have an '85 300D and I was hit this past Tuesday in the driver's side trunk area by a lady who wasn't paying attention. My rear wheel's out of alignment and I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that its probably totaled. Thankfully I can drive my bimmer until next week when I'll be buying my brother's '84 300D Sorry to hear about your wreck. At least neither one of us was hurt. I really do know how you feel.

I know its kind of weird but I think this experience has made me gunshy. I already feel a little anxious about driving my brother's '84 because of the thought of the risk of losing another one of those precious automobiles. That's what I've been thinking about since the wreck, that that's one less car on the road that is no longer in production. Oh well. Life goes on.

Ouch. I'm glad to hear your ok though. Fight the insurance company for what the cars worth. Don't settle for pathetic "blue book" value settlement check.

Would that be "Pine trees"? I love East Texas. Where bouts you located out east, and what kind of shape is the wagon in? I'm assuming the tranny is not the same as on a 617.952? What color is wagon, inside and out, and any pics while I'm carpet bombing you with questions?
Post, pm or email.

Scott, that sucks.

Glad you weren't hurt. And, it sucks to see a Benz go to the car heaven. Good luck on finding another one for a replacement.

sorry

my 85 300td located in Woodbridge, VA could use a newer engine and trans. Any chance your motor would fit in my 300td?

300TD uses a different head for the Self leveling system...the casting is different but the short block is the same....rebuild your head and put it on the other engine and you will be fine.
